Best man for the job

We believe that the best way to give good service and quality is to sometimes do nothing at all. If you have a particulary tricky project that one of our staff is not very confidant at. Rather than try and maybe make a mess of it we would be happy to reccommend someone who would be capable of it.
Although there isnt much that we cannot do there are instances where a qualified proffesional may be more skilled at the project than ourselves.
Dont be scared to ask us

Making it happen

Im not gonna fudge the truth Here at ADS Projects things have been a little slow as of late. Its the same accross the industry but we still have a smile on our face and are soldiering on through it.
My opinion is that it will pick up again and so long as we we keep afloat and deliver a high standard then we will be first in line for recommendations when the market picks up again.
I guess its a good time to thank all our existing clients for sticking with us through The crunch and to welcome any new clients that may come our way in the near future.

All dried up

ADS Projects has definatley been struck by the credit crunch
The levels of estimates going out the door has seriousley declined which in turn means the work is drying up. As a business trying to develop and progress its a tough time and is being felt accross the board not just in our industry.
Although it seems that there is alot of talking and some goverment schemes to help the economy it seems that by the time it has filtered down to the small business it gets lost in translation.
Personally I think it is pointless throwing money at advertising and big marketing ploys in a world where the spend isnt there. Instead ADS Projects are taking the road of educating existing clients and double checking work to new clients. Call it treading water if you like but it will get better and positivity is the key.
Lets get Britain building again and put some positivity back in our markets and we can all get through this difficult time and move forward.

Risky Business

New statistic have revealed that one in five tradespeople are uninsured
With up to 40 of the building trade facing job losses thousands of people are risking fines of up yo 1632500 per day not to mention the damages claims.
Although conditions in the industry are becoming increasingly tough there is no excuse for not covering yourself and your employees. Having no public liabilty insurance means you could be liable to be sued which would mean your own assets as well as your business are at risk
ADS Projects is covered for up to 5 million pounds public liability and would advise all clients or potential clients to check the insurance level of anyone they wish to employ to undertake work on their project.

Customer Service Week

ADS Projects were proud to take part in the National Customer Service Week. What is this event about I hear you ask National Customer Service Week NCSW is organised by the Institute of Customer Service. It is a week to raise awareness and highlight the importance of customer service within any organisation.
Along with a vast range of businesses accross the board we played our part and held meetings with some of our regular clients and highlighted the importance of customer service. Somthing which is notoriously lacking in our industry so it was a great opportunity to drive home our company.

Woman in the industry

I was at my local building suppliers last week and saw a van pull in that was a company set up by woman they employ woman and woman do all the work from make the tea to the running of it.
I think its great it got me thinking as to why you generally dont see too many woman in the industry is it because its always been a mans job so I did a bit of investigation and I was surprised.
The diverse range of roles fulfilled by women working in the built environment is astonishing. There are now so many dynamic productive and hardworking women in constructionrelated careers many of them combining motherhood continuing education charity work and other outofwork activities. Somehow they have managed to successfully multitask and achieve that all important worklife balance. How do they do that
Women have become an inspiration to others in their commitment and dedication to the industry They have proved to be successful in their fields and I for one applaude their determination in an often to...

No Planning Permission

Householders will now be able to convert their lofts and build rear extensions to their homes without seeking planning permission. From next month extensions of up to two storeys will be permitted as long as they extend no more than 10ft from the back of an existing property. Just enough for a small bedroom or kitchen extension.
Its not all good news as there has been restrictions placed on homeowners wanting to pave their front gardens If you want to lay more than 5m2 of asphalt or any other impermeable materials you will need planning permission. This is to cut down water flowing off driveways into the drains
This is great news if you want a small extension. Get in touch and we can begin planning with you to create your dream of a new bedroom or kitchen or whatever it is you want

Recently ADS Projects has had meetings with various companys within the building maintenance and construction industry. As a result good relationships have been made and we are supplying good quality leads for project work as well as contracted work.
We have also been handed a bucket load of leads and already undertaken work for a client after a meeting to see what we could do to help each other out.
Its great to see that the smaller businesses can stick together and help each other out. The old saying You scratch my back and ill scratch yours springs to mind

Who said the industry was dead

I have read so much literature and heard so many stories of the building industry being flat and not much work on I could probably write a column for the Telegraph
Here at ADS Projects we decided to get smart and go network and market ourselves into the face of the clients that are still wanting building projects from a reliable company they are out there
So far we have had a massive response and we are currently putting together estimates for some solid building projects that should see us easily into next year so whoever said the industry was dead think again and get smart
Thank you to those clients that took the time to contact us.

With the current credit crisis and its effect on the housing market it seems that people have stopped buying and selling houses and started looking at extending their current properties.
ADS Projects have had plenty of enquiries and are in the process of pricing up two large extensions and already half way through a kitchen extension.
Seems they are the new black and back in fashion
